Finshed this chappy up finally, acually quite pleased with myself that I actually got something finished!

not sure about the cloak tho, trying to paint stars when youre hand is shakeyer than Michael J. Fox on a moon buggy is somewhat problematic!

Sternguard

So I cant really do much painting at the moment as we have builders in and the place is dusty as fuck, which is annoying! (plus I have no bathroom so I smell :-( )

anyhoo I decided to use my time and try and make some Sternguard veterans from my recent winnings and various bitz. Got 2 done so far what do y'all think?

Swag and Booty

Popped into my local gws this afternoon to pick up my copy of black reach before work and they were having some sort of who wants to be a millionaire type quiz thing, and well I did quite well, won a copy of white dwarf a space marine combat squad, some snap fit marines and several bars of chocolate!



All due to my freakish ability to absorb totally useless pieces of information, How else would I have known that the maximum airspeed of a land speeder is 350 kph???? I didn't even know that I knew that!

p.s it felt good to show my superiority over 13 year old children! mwuahahahaha!

Assault on cakey reach

So A guy from my local games workshop came in to work today looking to get a couple of cakes made for the launch of the black reach set. And of course I had to oblige!

Soup Herb!

Here's a tip for you from me!

a tin can makes a great water pot! the ridgy bits on the inside are great for cleaning your brush in the water! just brush em up and down on the side and voila! a slightly cleaner brush!

Naught but dread

Finally made a proper start on my Dreadnaught (see, this is why I never finish anything, always trying to do everything at the same damn time) figured I should as it is the first model I picked up when I decided to get back into the hobby :-)

Anyhoo I stripped the old terrible paid job off, primed it with Tamiya superfine grey primer (which is great btw) and applied the basecoat with my airbrush.


Came out pretty well methinks. Once that was out of the way I thought i'd try and give the previously basecoated command squad a wash using the new citadel washes. So i mixed up a 50/50 mix of black and blue wash and gave them all a liberal spraying!

As you can see from the comparison pic below it really darkened the base blue colour to quite a blacky blue compared with the unwashed dready.


I'm not quite sure if I like it or not, maybe a little less black in the mix would be better, hmm what do you all think?

SM command squad basecoated and dried in less than 10 mins. Excellent.

Still need to get my thinning ratio of water to paint right tho, but still, makes things way way easier!
